I haven't been making videos for a few years. Got the urge to create a piece of music in a slower tempo than I made for the RadXSports videos. That done, I felt the need to put some picture to the music. Totally changed my feeling for the piece. The other part of my personal challenge was to use only shots (video and still) I took myself. Nothing from all the talented shooters I worked with ove...

Переглядів 6047 років тому
Opus 40 is a monumental earthwork sculpture built be hand by one man, Harvey Fite. He used traditional dry stone (no cement) techniques and original tools. Two hurricanes, Sandy and Irene, dumped too much water on the monument causing one of the earliest built sections to blow out. Five years later masons from around the world gathered to reconstruct the wall. This is their story.

This guy Ripped upon the Icy Slopes of Hunter Mt., NY, for DECADES! He is a SOLID contemporary of mine, other-than, he Started a few years later-than I did (sorry, but, 1978 WAS awhile ago). But, the Carve-Father is a Huge Influence upon the EAST COAST, and the group of Racer/Freecarver type that grew up outa the Ice to Lay-Down-Arcs upon the Firmest snow made by Mankind! I always thought his 'Style' came from the Sims Racer Kevin Delaney, or perhaps, Kris Karol of Burton/Gnu?! IDK, I should've asked.. "PSR"
watching 2024/ Tele trip. Cool mountain/people
Love this place
Thanks for the upload! Just got into skiboarding and love learning and watching the history
That's Hunter Mtn. First YT video I've seen from there.

Red Sleds.
That's what I been sayin'. The edge change is the turn!
Those look like the worst ski conditions I’ve ever seen
Talk about a niche event. Underwoods crushed it. Sorry we missed these edits.
We know that guy! And he still rips 14 years plus later.
Thanks for posting this! I was in HS and my friends and I drove up for this event. Such a memorable weekend!
Been trying to find the movie about Bill. Does anyone have it?
This was an incredible event, at a truly remarkable time for the sport. I’ll never forget how thick that fog was, or how electric the atmosphere was at night. Amazing video, thank you for sharing
Is this event on Mt Hood...Mayabe Summit? or Ski Bowl?
Americans should remember this great champion, unfortunately we don’t. Absolutely love Bill Johnson. RIP Billy
Back when snowboarding was still fun, lift tickets were affordable and a 540 was cool! Now we’re parents .
Hi Gerry. This video is awesome. Is there anyway I can contact you directly? Thank you very much.
nice quality product
God brings back memories, I used to go there every weekend and see dude like Sean emery, and sketch and gumby, I literally looked up to some of these dudes coming up, also skated with Myles Willard there whos like a big time pro on Toy Machine now, its crazy how good a lot of these guys were back then
I don't care for Plattekill. The kid in the rental shop mismatched my boots and skis. I had a tough time clicking the skis into place and then, skis would not STAY on. I had to be taken down in the toboggan by the ski patrol, who asked me a zillion questions. "Have you skied before?" "Umm, yeah. I wouldn't have attempted 'Twist' if I had never skied." "This will be your last run of the day, right?" "No, this is only my third run of the day. It's 11am. I want to continue to ski since I'm not actually injured (though I could have been injured. Seriously." "Maybe, you picked up the wrong pair of skis by mistake...I can't imagine one of our employees screwing up like that." (But he did). Finally, someone realized that THEY indeed made a mistake. I was able to continue skiing once I went back in and another gentleman correctly matched the boots with a different pair of skis, but the only thing I got for the situation they caused was a free toboggan ride. I'll go to Windham, Belleayre, Catamount, Hunter, or Butternut if going on a day trip or Stratton, Mount Snow, Okemo, or Berkshire East for an overnight trip. I most likely will not be returning to Platypus. It's kind of a shame, because I wanted to try something different and new. I wanted to like the place.
Shut up u know what i said on the other video
That place sucked
11 years later...
I remember his 1984 Gold Metal like it was yesterday…He had issues but don’t we all ?

K2 amp 80's ... for an instructor?!
Ya, and not short enough! They're WAY too long................
I watch this video every couple months just to scratch that tele itch. Seeing the guidance of Biff (technical and mindful), and the indoctrination of “young” telemarkers reinvigorates my unofficial covenant with the tribe.
I still have those same goggles!! The lense is shot tho
🤣😆🤣🤣😆
Nothing like leaving trenches behind you! Always Be Carving!!!
RIP Bill Johnson.
*I am an experienced mountain biker⊳⊳>**share4.photo/GravityBike?Sて** and have ridden for over 18 years. I had a intermediate level Giant several years back, but then suffered a shoulder injury, had a kid and got married, so I took a few years off from mountain biking and sold my Giant. I was looking to get back into mountain biking a few years ago, and after some research I decided to give this entry level bike a shot.*
I took a shit ok that pool after a Mexican lunch
Nothin' beats the sound of a triple. When set up properly, nothin' beats 'em for top speed, either!!
Awe biff! Hell yeah buddy! That’s just what I needed to hear.
